In the Motivate class we teach you how to be more confident in yourself when applying for jobs and going for interviews.

Since the project began in 2012 our ladies have become better prepared to go into the community and look for jobs, paid or voluntary.

Here are some comments from some of the ladies in the class;

“I started coming to the Motivate class in June 2013 and l now feel confident enough to apply for voluntary jobs to gain experience.”

 “I have worked in the past and found myself out of a job. Then l started coming to Aawaz and the classes helped me to do better in any interviews I got.”

 “l never realised that the skills I use while I am looking after my family are skills I can also use in a job.”

Many of our ladies have got voluntary work in charity shops around the local town and are enjoying the experience this gives them. Some of our ladies have since got work because they have become confident within themselves to go to interviews and know that the skills they have been using while looking after their family are transferrable to use in a working environment.

Aawaz is inviting employers from various organisations to come into the centre and speak to the ladies in the classes so it gives them a better idea of what skills and experience are needed to work in that job.

We have had guest speakers from Care Services, Domestic Services, and Lancashire County Council and from Lancashire Child-minding Service. This has enabled the ladies to ask questions and find out what is needed to work in this field.
