AAWAZ charity is celebrating in style at its annual celebration event during the International Women’s week, March 2016.

Mrs Jean Battle, the Patron of the Charity explained that Aawaz is a grassroots organisation working to support south Asian women and families in the locality. She said “Aawaz work holistically to assist women and families who are in real need, we have an open door policy and welcome everyone”.

Aawaz are making preparations to welcome over 150 guests to the annual event. Guest will include service users, members and representatives from over 30 partner organisations who work with Aawaz. The Mayor of Hyndburn Councillor Mrs Marlene Haworth, Mayor of Pendle Councillor Nawaz Ahmed and the chairman of Lancashire County Council County Councillor Margaret Brindle will also be attending.

This year’s event will celebrate the grassroots work of the charity in assisting service users who experience hardship and deprivation and how they are supported by the charity to learn new skills and help themselves to improve their life chances. The programme will include a number of service users who will share their experience of accessing the help from Aawaz.
