An important part of our work is giving all opportunities to learn about good health.

We are pleased to have the support and encouragement of the renowned expert in the field of the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and the president of British Thoracic Society Professor Lawrence Peter Ormerod.

Professor Ormerod visited Accesspoint and facilitated gave a very interesting and informative workshop about tuberculosis. This health event was well attended with many participants having the opportunity to ask questions and hold informal discussions.

Professor Ormerod’s presentation covered what is tuberculosis, how is it spread, how does it infect people, the symptoms and the treatment of tuberculosis. Our staff provided bilingual support to ensure that everyone present could fully participate in this workshop

The discussion session at the end of the workshop was extremely useful. One service user was happy to find out that since she has previously been infected by tuberculosis she will not catch it again. Something she has been worried about for a long time.
