Aawaz visit Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve – The reserve is a 22 acre site consisting of two former mill lodges, woodland and areas of meadow.

The group were met by Phil, the Ranger, who explained that the reserve was formed from the derelict remains of the Foxhill Bank Calico Mill, its lodges and the grounds.

This visit was part of the Environment Hyndburn Project and the group found they learned so much about the different plants and how all the plants are needed to help with the insects and the wildlife. It was a warm day and everyone had a really interesting and enjoyable outing.

Mrs Shaheen said “I really enjoyed learning about the reserve and will bring my children over the holidays”.
Mrs Bi said “I did not realise that feeding the ducks with bread was not good for them, next time we will buy bird seeds and bring that for them”.
