Aawaz are very pleased to announce a brand new project funded through Reaching Communities, Big Lottery. The Nai Zindagi Project is a 42 month project working with south Asian women in the district of Hyndburn.
The Nai Zindagi Project will appoint two full time Project workers (female) Worker. There will be a number of Volunteers recruited and trained to work alongside the staff.
Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for an Application pack today. Closing date for vacancies 3rd June 2017
Our Nai Zindagi Project involves working with South Asian women (mainly Muslim Punjabi and Bengali women) from key wards in Hyndburn who cannot speak, read or write in English or have very limited command of the English language. The women lack confidence, self-esteem and experience multiple barriers in accessing mainstream services.
Our project will fully engage the target group to build capacity, help them to be skilled-up and become better informed and more able to move towards integration and employment.
The project will create a comprehensive, holistic English communication and confidence programme and includes the key element of personal development support.
An important aspect of the Project will be to have full ownership from its beneficiaries, who will be involved in developing, running and evaluating their project: we want this project to make all the participants feel involved, important and have ownership and responsibility. Through project activities participants will begin to interact socially with their peers and to put in practice their new skills and confidence.
