Aawaz in partnership with Supersloway, Horse and Bamboo and Arts Council England are hosting an arts project.

Our ladies are working with a resident artist to explore creative writing, paper cutting, henna designs and crafts. The project is to introduce the ladies to using and working with different art forms to explore emotions and promote positive health and well-being.

South Asian women of working age and their families who are disconnected, experience isolation and as a result have poor mental health or mental distress now have the opportunity to engage with a practical and interactive project.

‘Let’s Work Together’ is about providing support and activities to help working age beneficiaries to learn new skills, gain confidence, improve their health and well-being, develop a sense of belonging and remove social isolation.

Nai Zindagi Project Launch

A successful community event to launch the Nai Zindagi project was attended by 78 potential beneficiaries. This exciting new project is aimed at assisting women to learn to communicate better in English.

 

 

 

Aawaz workshop at Job Centre Plus

Aawaz ladies attended a workshop at the local Job Centre Plus Offices. The aim of the workshop today was to help the ladies who are unemployed and seeking work to be better informed about the help and advice available from Job Centre Plus. More
